BABY REGISTRY CHECKLIST
GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP
*Starting out you can certainly use a BASSINET which is a cradle for the baby. It definitely gives them that personal encasement
as they get used to the outside world. They are used to being cradled inside of you so this is good for adjustment and comfort.
*As they get older and have grown bigger they must have more space. At this point a CRIB is necessary. It is usually best to get a crib that can break down into a youth bed as the child grows. This will also save your from having to buy another bed later on down the line.
*Along with the crib you should have safe yet comfortable bedding. Make sure to have a BUMPER to surround the inside of the bed. The bumper will keep the baby safe from any limbs going through the crib bars. It also protects baby from hitting the bars of the bed particularly the head.

DIAPERING
* Until babies grow and learn the art of using the bathroom, we have that lovely task of making sure their bums stay fresh. There are 2 ways to go with this. You can buy DISPOSABLE DIAPERS like Pampers, Huggies, Luvs, etc.which are more convenient. When you 1st start out using newborn diapers you don't want to invest too much in the newborn size because your baby will outgrow those in a blink of an eye. If they pee or poop and it comes out of their diaper and it wasn't an extravagant amount then that is a clear sign you need to go up a notch to the next size.
* Your second more natural healthy option is CLOTH DIAPERS. Yes these are still in style and more eco friendly. The only thing with cloth diapers is you do have to wash them but don't we wash our under clothes too??? This also saves you money in the long run so it is a smart move and a benefit for all the natural mamas out there.
* When your baby stays in contact with it's urine too long a diaper rash can develop. It is very typical and nothing to be frantic about. There are several ways to fix it. You can buy DIAPER RASH OINTMENT like Desitin, Cornstarch, or you can make your own ointment. To make your own natural ointment you can use Bentointe clay, coconut oil, and shea butter mixture. Bentonite is a natural clay found from volcanic ashes. It aides in pulling out toxins from the body so it no wonder it would be a great solution to this annoying development. If you are not for making your own then the Desitin, or simple cornstarch by itself will work.

CLOTHING
*On the topic of clothing babies definitely need HATS to keep their tiny heads warm. It would be good to start off with 5-6 assorted hats that are of stretchy material.
* Next we have the ONESIES which are the babies under shirt that snaps at the bottom to keep their shirt in place. You can never have too many of these in assorted colors. You should buy a little bigger then their size for growing room
* Another thing you can't have too many of are SLEEPERS. Sleepers keep your baby covered like a blanket in total warmth from top to bottom. I like the button up ones to keep from any possible snags of using the zippered ones.

FEEDING
*Have you decided if you are using FORMULA or BREAST FEEDING?
* If you are using FORMULA there are brands like Enfamil,Gerber,Similac, etc. The formula will usually go based off if your baby may be lacking certain nutrients or is lactose intolerant. There are several factors in that which will be discussed in the hospital.
* If you are making the choice to be natural and breastfeed there are different BREAST FEEDING PUMPS you can use to place your milk in baby bottles for when you have to go back to work. This is the best nutrients for the baby because it is of nature and from you the source .
* Make sure you pick good BABY BOTTLES where the nipple does not get torn as easy . The last thing you need is for the nipple to be torn and the baby gets too much too fast which can cause choking.

PLAYTIME
*There are ways to keep your baby engaged and never bored.
* I loved the BOUNCER for mine when they were little, it was very engaging while they watched the tv or me while I cooked. It gently bounces them while holding them in place. Some have additional little toys attached to them for playtime as well.
* The ACTIVITY MAT is full of fun for you and your baby. You can have tummy time with your little one to help them learn hand eye coordination while playing with the toys and learning to crawl.
* When you want your baby to be content and wind down the SWING is where it's at. They typically have different soft songs to choose from along with a vibrator to soothe the baby as they swing. It does all depend on what kind you get as to the features but well worth the investment.

TRAVELING
* When it is time travel outside the house whether you are traveling by car, walking, or bus you must have a form of a carrier.
*If you are taking a trip in the car or going a distance using a CAR SEAT is mandatory. They won't even let you leave the hospital without one so make sure you are prepared. It keeps your baby comfy and you can add little toys that attach to the holder for the baby to play with
* Next if you are taking a stroll down the street you would want to use a STROLLER. There are many different types, but just make sure it is comfortable for your child while awake and when they fall asleep. And make sure the compartments are adequate to fit your baby bag and additions.
*Last but not least you want to walk around and still have the feeling of holding your baby. You definitely want to have a BABY CARRIER on your list of must haves. It holds the baby securely in place while you are walking around stores, in the park, at events, etc.

ADDITIONS
* When you are going anywhere with baby you must have a bag for them. This practically becomes your new pocketbook. Having a BABY BAG stores all the things you need for baby while you all are out for the day.
* When bathing your baby you need to have a holder because the baby is simply to tiny to just sit straight in a bathtub. Outside of washing baby in kitchen sink you can invest in a BABY BATHTUB that sits inside the big tub to hold baby while you wash him/her down.
* Another must have is BIBS. Bibs are your life savers from the clothes getting baby spitup or food on it. Once again you can never have too many.
